Mid 19th Century Spectacle Case

Mid 19th Century steel spectacle case. Inside measurements are 4 1/2 inches by 1 inch. The case was designed to hold sliding temple spectacles. This case has seen much use and is heavily coated with patina. The case was made by Parker and is so stamped. The area around the patent date would have to be heavily cleaned to reveal the date. I have had similar cases with a patent date of 1886.
