The first eyeglasses with temple arms invented by Edward Scarlett, a London optician, in 1727. Examples in good condition with their original case are hard to find. The frames are steel. Silver and gold frames are extremely rare but do come to market from time to time. Contact me for a list of my current inventory. I do have several examples without cases.
