Windsor Eyeglass Width
The standard size of the Windsor eyeglass frame is 4 1/2 inches measured across the front of the frames and includes both tabs that hold the temple arms. Sizes larger than 4 1/2 inches wide were most likely made in metric measurements for overseas sales. Such frames can measure 4 5/8 and a few measure 4 3/4.
The standard lens diameter is 40mm. A few frames with 42mm lenses turn up from time to time. A few frames with 38mm lenses turn up from time to time.
Windsor frames with 35mm lenses were made for children and small adults. Generally, such frames measure only 4 inches wide and have shorter than normal temple arms. Click here for temple arm sizes.
